I was chosen by the Main Street of Beatrice, Nebraska to design and paint a mural on one of their buildings. The wall space was on the roof of a warehouse and measuring up to 75 feet wide by 20 feet tall. It's a pretty big wall for being my first mural ever and it took me 3.5 weeks to complete by myself on evenings and weekends.
Design Plan
They wanted me to bring more life and colors to the downtown area, as well as showing some of the history of the city. When thinking of the history of Beatrice, I thought of the Homestead. I didn't want to do a traditional landscape for this mural, so I decided to do something with a modern illustration style as well as some colors to make it pop.
